• 12.8-megapixel CMOS sensor: The EOS 5D's full-frame CMOS sensor features12.8-megapixel resolution. The same size as a 35mm image on a traditional camera,the sensor operates without a conversion factor—perfect for taking advantageof the spectacular optics in Canon's L-series. Two automatic features maximizethe effectiveness of the EOS 5D's on-chip noise reduction.
• DIGIC II Image Processor: Thanks to the DIGIC II Image Processor, the EOS 5D is capable of shooting up to 3 frames per second for up to 60 JPEG or 17 RAW images. The information captured by the sensor is processed and assembled into images of exceptional clarity and resolution.
• 24-105mm lens included: This easy-to-use standard zoom lens can cover a large zoom area ranging from24mm wide-angle to 105mm portrait-length telephoto. Image Stabilizer (IS)technology steadies camera shake up to three stops. Constructed with one Super-UD glass element and three aspherical lenses, thislens minimizes chromatic aberration and distortion. The result is excellentpicture quality, even at wide apertures.
• 2.5" LCD screen: The 2.5" LCD screen not only displays moreinformation, it can also be viewed at a far greater angle (170°) than manyother conventional LCD screens. The full-featured shot information screen providesan RGB histogram and displays the AF frames used. Menus are accessed at thetouch of a button, and feature large, easy-to-read text.
• Picture Style function: Picture Style settings simulate the characteristicsof different film styles, including Snapshot mode for punchy, print-from-the-cameracolor; Portrait mode for softer, more natural skin tones; Landscape for vividblues and greens and overall sharpness; plus Neutral, Faithful and Monochrome,which can be customized to emulate color filters with black-and-white film.
• Advanced 9-point AF: Nine different AF points help to ensure an evengreater degree of focus accuracy when tracking a moving subject, even if thesubject is off-center.
• Durable body: The camera body is constructed of a magnesium alloy knownfor its lightweight and ultra-rigid strength. The durable high-speed shutterunit is designed to meet the demanding requirements of a full-frame sensor ina relatively compact body.
• Compatible lenses: The EOS 5D is compatible with all Canon lenses in the EF lineup (except EF-S lenses), ranging from 14mm ultra-wide to 600mm super telephoto lenses.
