• Full HD recording: The Canon Vixia HG20 High Definition Hard Disk Drive Camcorder records stunning, incredibly detailed video footage with the clarity of 1920 x 1080 Full HD.
• 60GB hard drive: Hybrid recording technology delivers a new level of flexibility for transferring your video footage and digital photos from the camcorder to compatible viewing devices. Record to the 60GB internal hard disk drive, or to removable SD/SDHC memory cards (sold separately).
• 3.3MP HD CMOS sensor: The HG20 features a Canon CMOS image sensor which reproduces high-resolution images at 1920 x 1080 resolution with full HD information. CMOS chips allow for more precise image processing, which means that individual pixels can be targeted for correction rather than the entire image, which is how most CCDs work. Also, CMOS chips perform a lot more of the image processing on-chip, which cuts down on power consumption.
• 12x optical zoom: Canons HG20 comes with a high-definition video lens with 12x optical zoom and 200x digital zoom—just what you need to record long shots. Five pre-set zoom speeds deliver smooth, steady zoom shots.
• HD lens: The VIXIA HG20 comes with an outstanding HD video lens. Super spectra coating technology results in images with minimal flare and ghosting. Plus, the new lens' aspheric design reduces aberration and increases resolution, ensuring crisp, sharp video and enhancing the HD image quality. Not only that, but a new gradation ND system gives you better exposures in bright shooting situations.
• Widescreen 2.7" LCD: A large, colorful display makes it easy to compose and review your shots. You can see exactly what your camcorder is recording and what your widescreen TV will display later.
• Digital stills: With 3.1-megapixel digital still capability, you can save brilliant photographs onto a SD/SDHC card without needing to dig into your bag for your other camera. Just point and shoot. You can also record digital stills while recording to capture the exact moment you want from your video.
• Optical image stabilizer (OIS): The HG20 features Canons SuperRange OIS, which combines gyro- and image-sensors to stabilize images through a wider range of camera motions.
• 30p progressive mode: In addition to the standard interlaced video frame rate of 60i, you may choose to set the VIXIA HG20 to capture video in 30p which is (30 progressive frames) particularly useful for footage to be used on the Internet. In addition, this setting gives enhanced quality to still images captured after recording. Excellent for action shots and sports.
• Remote control: A wireless remote control lets you operate your HG20 from a distance, so you won't be left out of the picture.
