• 10.0 megapixel: The Olympus E-420 digital SLR camera takes photo-quality, 300dpi images up to 8" x 12", and good-quality 200dpi images up to 13" x 19". These large images give you more freedom to crop, edit, and enlarge portions of your photos.
• Extremely compact design: The E-420 measures 5.1 inches by 3.6 inches by 2.1 inches, and weighs a featherweight 13.4 ounces, making it the worlds smallest digital SLR.
• 2.7 LCD screen: The HyperCrystal II LCD delivers twice the contrast for better viewing in poor lighting, a broader range of color detail, and a wider viewing angle. Youll also have a live preview of your subject, giving you the point-and-shoot feel with the quality of a DSLR.
• 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 lens: This 3x standard zoom lens is the smallest and lightest in its class and features a closest focusing distance of only 25cm. The ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and two aspherical lens elements correct aberrations without increasing lens dimensions. The circular aperture diaphragm enables beautiful defocusing—one of the big advantages of this lens.
• Zuiko Digital lens: Olympus' Zuiko Digital lenses provide edge-to-edge pixel-perfect clarity. Unlike film lenses, these advanced, precision-engineered 100-percent digital lenses are designed to work perfectly with the entire camera's digital technology.
• Digital image stabilizer: This stabilization system bumps up the cameras sensitivity to light (ISO speed), helping you to shoot in low-light conditions. Youll be able to use faster shutter speeds—useful if you plan to take fast action shots.
• High-speed shooting: The E-420 can capture the action at up to 3.5 frames per second—even at full resolution.
• Shadow Adjustment technology: This feature captures detail in the bright areas of a frame and opens up detail in the shadows that other cameras would render too dark or underexposed.
• Anti-dust technology: The Olympus dust reduction system is an industry first and a proven technology. Every time you turn on the E-420, the Supersonic Wave Filter—located between the shutter and the image sensor—silently vibrates an amazing 35,000 times per second. Dust is flung away and collected so it can't come back.
• Face detection: This camera can identify up to eight faces in a frame and adjust the focus to ensure that all of your subjects, and not the background, are what you see in the final picture.
• Scene modes: Choose your mode, and this camera automatically adjusts settings such as shutter speed, color saturation, flash and focus to adapt to the situation. This camera features a wide variety of scene modes, including portrait, landscape, sports and more.
