Description: Sony's "W-Series" HDTVs offer a great balance of performance and value. The KDL-40W3000 features the highest screen resolution available ? 1920 x 1080 pixels, or "1080p" ? which provides about as many pixels as you get with typical 40" LCDs. That higher resolution gives images lifelike clarity, texture, and dimensionality.
The KDL-40W3000 employs 10-bit processing and a 10-bit display panel. This powerful combination provides up to 64 times the level of color precision of conventional LCD TVs, which use 8-bit panels. Also, Sony's "wide color gamut" backlight and special color filters reproduce more of the full broadcast TV color range ? 25% more than standard backlights.
The KDL-40W3000 has built-in tuners for your local digital and analog over-the-air broadcasts (antenna required). Plus, a "QAM" cable TV tuner lets cable subscribers watch unscrambled channels without a set-top box ? including HD channels in many areas.
The generous "jack pack" comes loaded with high-definition connections. Three 1080p-compatible HDMI inputs will maintain maximum picture quality as high-def formats evolve.
