You'd expect better build from a tool company
Pros: Removable plates take some effort away from cleanup; reversible plates expand usability.
Cons: Flimsy at best; mediocre waffles on a good day; astonishingly hot exterior with inadequate handles.
BottomLine: Black & Decker seriously needs to go back to the design board with this device. It's neither well-built nor particularly functional.

Pros: Variety of uses; easy clean; reversible, removable grids; affordable
Cons: Outside gets very hot - exterior is NOT cool touch.

Nonstick fades fast
Pros: reversable plates for flat grilling of grilled cheese sandwhiches and quesadilla's
Cons: non-stick performance is horrible.
BottomLine: I do not recommend this waffle iron. The non-stick faded after a dozen uses, and it is not safe to touch for children.

A very handy and non trendy appliance
Pros: A versatile workhorse that should last for years
Cons: Extremely thin non stick coating on plates Outer shell gets dangerously hot
BottomLine: If you like grilled sandwiches,pancakes or waffles at home, you need this. For adult use only, I'd reccommend this particular appliance.

Like My Black and Decker Grill and Waffle Maker
Pros: Makes great crisp waffles and clean up is a breeze.
Cons: My only negative remark is that it cooks the waffles slowly
