Pros: Cheap everyday price. Cordless.
Cons: Suction is not powerful. Good for lighter cleaning duties.
BottomLine: Recommended because it is just plain cheap $$. Good for spot cleaning. Just remember real vacuuming jobs require real vacuums.

Pros: It is small and light weight
Cons: It is noisy, doesn't have good suction, short hose

The Dirt Devil RoomMate has limited performance, limited durability, and unlimited noise.
Pros: Relatively inexpensive, easy to clean.
Cons: Not enough power for most carpets, limited usefulness on hard floors, poor durability, very noisy.
BottomLine: Not recommended because of its poor cleaning ability, poor durability, and very loud motor. For not too much more money, you can get a real vacuum cleaner.

Glorified Dustbuster
Pros: lightweight
Cons: really loud, burns through belts, basically a glorified dustbuster
BottomLine: Buy it if you're a college student for the dorm, otherwise, spend your money on something more durable.

This one didn't last long
Pros: portable, inexpensive, bagless
Cons: not robust enough for normal vacuuming, noisy, no attachments
BottomLine: Because the roommate was not robust enough to handle vacuuming 200-odd square feet of carpet four times in two weeks, I cannot recommend it at all.

Don't Waste Your Money Or Your Time!
Pros: can hang it up in the closet for storage
Cons: picks up lightly on carpeted areas, and barely picks up on bare floors
BottomLine: Doesn't pick up well on bare floors, which is what we bought it for!
