The H/B Stand Mixer is the better of the two
Pros: Wide bowl top opening convenient for adding ingredients. Smaller dough hook top shield.
Cons: Poor paint finish on my first one. H/B quickly replaced unit.
BottomLine: Too bad you can't try before you buy. I got lucky when I bought the H/B. Would never consider K/A with what I know now.

Hamilton Beach, every bit as good as a Kitchen-Aid!
Pros: Sleek,Quiet,Durable,Attachments & 12 speeds,SS bowl, Looks & Performes like the Kitchen-Aid without the $$$$
Cons: None!!!
BottomLine: I believe this machine to be every bit as good as its expensive$$$ competition, but for less. I would highly recommend the Hamilton Beach 63227.

We really enjoy our mixer!
Pros: Mixes all types of ingredients from dough-cakes. Beautiful to display.
Cons: None that I have experienced.
BottomLine: I have already recommended this to all I know, but now will add the caveat about the motor - just in case =)

This mixer works great and it costs much less than the Kitchen Aid Artisan mixer
Pros: Plenty of power, great color selection, includes 3 mixer attachments and a pouring shield
Cons: none that I can find
BottomLine: I definitely recommend this mixer to anyone wanting a powerful, attractive mixer. My initial attraction was the great price, but now I wouldn't use anything else.

400 Watts of Death
Pros: 400 watt motor, great colors, attachments, splatter guard.
Cons: motor burns out extremely quickly, it can not handle simple mixing.
BottomLine: I don't recommend this mixer as it can not handle basic cookie dough mixing without burning out the 400 watt motor. It is just not a decent mixer.
