Pros: Very compact and light, approachable interface, great performance, incredibly capable. Cons: No matching 18mm-70mm zoom. BottomLine: Simple to use, does all the basics, does most of the advanced tricks, works well on full automatic, and uses all the Pentax lenses.
Pros: colors, lightweight, shake reduction, kit lens, AWB, shadow/highlight correction, video, remote flash control, AutoISO Cons: mirror slap issue , AF point selection algorithm, no cheap 50/1.8, missing hdmi out, bad service . BottomLine: Mirror slap issue making it unusable in many cases. Once you have mirror slap issue it can not be repaired and Pentax refuses to help you. Avoid.
Pros: Great DSLR at a great price. It shoots as well as the Nikon/Canon competiton. Cons: Skimps alittle in specs and is not weatherproof. BottomLine: I recommend this camera for most people because it takes great pix and 720p video and it is idiot proof for beginners like me.
