• MiniDV: Compact MiniDV media keeps the Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder small and light for easy transport. Weighing just over a pound, the HV30 is also perfect for one-handed operation.
• High-definition recording: Capture your surroundings in true 1080 high-definition resolution video. The 16:9 format gives you pro-quality video. This camcorder also has a standard definition option for viewing on non-HD equipment.
• Full HD CMOS sensor: The HV30 features a Canon CMOS image sensor which reproduces high-resolution images at 1920 x 1080 resolution with full HD information. CMOS chips allow for more precise image processing, which means that individual pixels can be targeted for correction rather than the entire image, which is how most CCDs work. Also, CMOS chips perform a lot more of the image processing on-chip, which cuts down on power consumption.
• 10x optical zoom: Canons HV30 comes with a high-definition video lens with 10x optical zoom and 200x digital zoom—just what you need to record long shots. Five pre-set zoom speeds deliver smooth, steady zoom shots.
• HD lens: The VIXIA HV30 comes with an outstanding HD video lens. Super spectra coating technology results in images with minimal flare and ghosting. Plus, the new lens' aspheric design reduces aberration and increases resolution, ensuring crisp, sharp video and enhancing the HD image quality. Not only that, but a new gradation ND system gives you better exposures in bright shooting situations.
• Widescreen 2.7" LCD: A large, colorful display makes it easy to compose and review your shots. You can see exactly what your camcorder is recording and what your widescreen TV will display later.
• Digital stills: With 3.1-megapixel digital still capability, you can save brilliant photographs onto a mini SD card without needing to dig into your bag for your other camera. Just point and shoot. You can also record digital stills while recording to capture the exact moment you want from your video.
• Image stabilization: The HV30 features Canons SuperRange OIS, which combines gyro- and image-sensors to stabilize images through a wider range of camera motions.
• 30p progressive mode: In addition to the standard interlaced video frame rate of 60i, you may choose to set the VIXIA HV30 to capture video in 30p which is (30 progressive frames) particularly useful for footage to be used on the Internet. In addition, this setting gives enhanced quality to still images captured after recording. Excellent for action shots and sports.
• Remote control: A wireless remote control lets you operate your HV30 from a distance, so you won't be left out of the picture.
