Pros: Image Stabilization, 7 megapixels, 4X optical zoom, and uses available anywhere AA batteries


Cons: Price, redeye, some corner softness and minor chromatic aberration (purple fringing), slow flash re-charge

Pros: Pretty decent pictures, easy to use, medium weight.
Cons: Struggles with low light settings, fancy features don't seem to do much.

Canon A570IS: The new affordable everyday use value camera?

Pros: DIGIC III, 4x optical, uses AA batteries, manual control, small size for features, bang-for-buck
Cons: Image quality slightly worse than SD800, Canon's movie mode files too bulky
BottomLine: The A570IS is another winner for Canon although has a few odd although minor shortcomings compared to the A710IS and SD800IS.

Feature Rich, Bang For The Buck

Pros: Versatile and feature rich.
Strong video modes.
Quality feel.
Includes a viewfinder.
Cons: Zooming blurs video.
Poor color balance on pics in "auto" mode.

Pros: Extremely good image stabilization using lens shift technology
Cons: Flimsy plastic window in front of LCD screen
